Goodbye dinner

A quick update... we just came back from a 'goodbye' dinner with Ryan's birthparents. We had a really nice evening with them, and they are both doing really well. It is great to see that they are both feeling really positive about their decision to place Ryan with us.

We're leaving Raleigh confident that our relationship with Ryan's birthparents will continue to grow. It is reassuring to us to know that when Ryan starts asking questions about them, not only will we have first hand knowledge, but he'll be able to reach out to them directly. He will always know how much they love him, and that as painful as it was for them, they made the most self-less decision to place him in our home so that he could have the kind of life they wanted for him. That's a lot of responsibility for us to live up to.
